HIRING TO START: Position open, Interviewing now.

Part Time afternoons, 1:00PM - 6:00PM (5:30pm non-daylight savings time) Mon - Fri with additional very limited evening and Saturday hrs; 25+ hours/week for a well-established, successful, and innovative non-profit After School tutoring and cultural enrichment program in East Alisal area of Salinas. The program also provides parent workshops for student families, a nurturing, learning work experience for staff, youth mentors/tutors and utilizes adult volunteers.

Accountability: Board of Directors

Professional Qualifications:

ï Bachelor's degree in education or related field with experience working with children and/or youth. (Consideration given to Associates Degree with experience commensurate to two additional years' work in education or related field of study.)

ï Strong Math and English skills (1st - 8th); Spanish Bilingual necessary: Bi-literate/Bi-cultural preferred

ï Possess current California Driver's License and automobile insurance with acceptable driving record.

ï First Aid and CPR certification required or training can be scheduled.

ï Background check required.

Primary job responsibilities:

Work effectively with the Board of Directors, provide feedback on the status of programs and services, and participate in developing strategies and plans for the future.

Assume operational responsibility for implementing goals identified by the Board.

Support Grant writing of Board Members with program data/information as they need and if necessary assume responsibility for smaller grants.

Collaborate with outside organization to enhance programs and offerings for students

Direct and coordinate all day to day activities of program.

Supervise, motivate and train staff and volunteers.

Perform personnel duties such as hiring staff and evaluating work performance.

Various administrative duties, with support of Admin. Assist. for example maintaining student/personnel/volunteer files, payroll time sheets and records, creating program monthly reports; ensuring forms, flyers, brochures, and PowerPoint presentations are available as needed, interface with bookkeeper at least twice a month, board members monthly and as needed and ensure all program records, board and grantor files are maintained correctly.

Personal skills and qualifications:

Have strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Google and Cloud; WordPress and social media skills a bonus.

Able to creatively problem - solve.

Utilize positive, robust management and organization skills.
