The hosts primary duties are to greet/thank all guests who enter/exit the restaurant, answer phone and give information to callers, maintain the waitlist for seating, coordinate and manage the flow of seating and keep managers and other staff members informed of any and all special situations.
The host must be neat and well groomed. He/she must work quickly and efficiently while maintaining the highest level of service standards. The host must be highly organized and possess great attention to detail when relaying information. He/she must be friendly and personable and should have the ability to maintain composure under stressful situations.
The host duties include but are not limited to answering and operating the phone system, keeping the foyer area cleaned and stocked with supplies, taking order and preparing TOGO items, using the POS system, keeping menus clean, communicating information according to guidelines and other duties as assigned by the manager.
This is an evening position 20-30 hours a week. A typical shift would be 3:30-9:30 PM.
This can be an entry level position for the right candidate. However, experience hosting in a similar environment is preferred. California Food handler card will be required.
