Stone Creek Kitchen is a gourmet cookware retailer that features a fabulous fresh food deli with food to go for lunch and dinner. We have a retail housewares shop and offer cooking classes.

Starting immediately we have openings for an experienced, part-time deli counter workers with schedules of 20 to 30 hours per week. We welcome students who can only work part time as well as people who are looking for a professional "home".

Example shifts:

- Monday through Friday 8:30 am to 2:30 pm

- Monday through Friday 10:00 am to 6:00 pm

- Monday through Friday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm

- Monday through Friday from 11:30 am to 8:00 pm

Sandwich making experience (ability to use a meat slicer) is a plus!

We work a short day (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) on Saturday and are closed on Sunday

Job Description

This position performs all duties related to opening the deli for business each day. This includes such tasks as: arranging the food in the case, signing all the food with tags, restocking the drink coolers, setting up the outdoor furniture on the patio, counting the cash drawer for the start of the day.

The deli counter team members are responsible for greeting customers warmly and serving them quickly and professionally. All financial transactions must be handled accurately. Teamwork and reliability are critical to success.

We seek someone with food service and cashiering experience. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in very fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude towards customers and colleagues. Calm, cool and cheerful are the personality attributes we seek.

Job Requirements and Qualifications

- Prior food service experience, required.

- Cashiering: ability to make change, maintain an accurate cash drawer, required

- Ability to handle weights and measures on the scale.

- A passion for food, cooking and appreciation of stellar ingredients, a plus.

- Able to work well with others and function effectively as part of a team, expected.

- Well-groomed appearance and friendly personality, needed.

- Mental and physical dexterity. Ability to perform the physical requirements of job.

Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):

ServSafe Certified, a plus. You may be asked to attend additional food safety classes, participate in company sponsored training, and/or take food safety quizzes on a regular basis.

Other Requirements Must be 19 years of age, possess High School Diploma or equivalent, have proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
