The Wine House is looking for someone to join our team! Seeking a full time Kitchen manager and cook. Hours are Wednesday-Sunday from 12-8pm. We are a beer/wine bar in the Carmel Valley Village with a close team of young individuals who like to work hard and have a good time while doing it! This position is for someone who is looking to invest themselves with a company as there is a lot of potential for growth and long career opportunity. This job is perfect for someone who has a sincere interest in food and wanting to utilize their skills in a kitchen. This job offers paid time off, bonuses and commissions.
Duties include prepping and plating all food, inventory and kitchen ordering. Must be reliable, hard working, work well with others and have total availability. Kitchen experience is not required but encouraged. Must be 18+.
Responsibilities
Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
Cook and plate all food
Order all food according to appropriate needs
Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking
Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
Undertake basic cooking duties such as chopping, slicing and grilling
Prepare simple dishes such as salads, paninis and cheese boards
Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
Skills
Proven experience as prep cook
Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
A team player with good communication skills
Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
Very good physical condition and endurance
