Our Practice has two exciting opportunities.
First Position:
We are looking for a full-time Medical Assistant (bilingual a plus- Spanish speaking preferred) for our busy multi-specialty medical practice who will serve as our Scheduling Coordinator.
This is a full-time position that is the first touch point for our patients. Ideal candidates will possess an enthusiastic, empathetic, and professional approach to patient care. Must provide excellent customer service, and demonstrate the ability to communicate with insurance companies, surgical facilities, and patients in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated and a team player. We aim to provide the best care for every patient, every day. This is not an entry level position.
Job Responsibilities:
Exam room preparation and cleaning
Prepare electronic medical records (EMR) with appropriate patient information
Schedule patients using an EMR
Rooming patients
Taking vitals
Stocking rooms
Pull reports and prep as required for daily appointments
Specimen collection
In-office injections
Assist providers with procedures
Assist providers with medication refills
Communicate patients' medical questions to the provider
Present labs & x-ray reports for provider review
Retrieve patient phone messages and return calls in a timely fashion
Communicate well and work together in a team approach to patient care
Accommodate research as needed
Other duties as assigned
Scheduling coordinator is responsible for evaluation and management of a full range of patient scheduling duties including scheduling new patients and scheduling surgeries. Coordinates scheduling and insurance verification functions for outpatient services in accordance with various employer, federal, state and workers' compensation policies and procedures. Verify eligibility and benefits.
Scheduling patients for surgery, completing facility paperwork, prior authorizations
Scheduling patients for diagnostic tests i.e. bone scan, MRI, CT, EMG/NCS, ESI
Reviewing patient’s medications and health history to determine pre-admission testing
Experience using prior authorization portals such as Availity, BotoxOne and other ordering sites such as McKesson, what are the pirate portals other than the lady is required
Coordinating appropriate medical and cardiac clearances.
Scheduling patient for follow-up appointments and tests.
Coordinates with clinical staff to get charge information for all patients.
Codes information from physicians about procedures performed and diagnosis on charge.
Documents and maintains all correspondence with patients, insurance carriers, and vendors.

Second Position:
We are looking for a full-time Front Office Manager (bilingual a plus- Spanish speaking preferred) who has MEDICAL OFFICE experience for our busy multispecialty medical practice. We are looking for an individual with a minimum of 5 years experience working in the front office.
The successful candidate must be able to confidently handle a 2 provider schedule, schedule appointments, collect patient payments, verify insurance benefits, etc in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail is a must. The work hours would be during the normal office hours between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Some weekend or after hours training may be required on occasion.

Previous medical office experience; especially benefit verification.
