Duties/Responsibilities include:
Calculate bi-weekly time cards including vacation and sick time to get payroll ready for the payroll manager
Maintains employee files
Provides support and guidance to managers and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and terminations.
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices.
Documents and review compliance mandatory training. This may include safety and other meetings as necessary
training and anti-harassment training.
New hire orientation, onboarding, and termination
Knowledge of leave laws
May include traveling to other locations as necessary
Participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations and investigate sensitive matters to appropriate staff
Employee benefits programs, such as group health, health saving account, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and supplemental insurance.
Conduct benefit orientations/meetings and explain health benefits.
Maintain employee benefits and ensure benefit changes are entered appropriately for payroll deduction.
Assist employees with related benefit claims.
Verify the calculation of the monthly premium statements for all group insurance policies. Enter and resolve administrative problems with the carrier representatives.
Keep track of accrued vacation and sick time.
Assist CFO in obtaining information in the renewal process of employee benefits.
Assist CFO in updating company handbook and distributing handbook to all employees at all locations.
Coordinate workers' compensation claims with a third-party administrator. Follow up on claims.
Inspects facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks.
Develops and implements inspection policies and procedures and a schedule of routine inspections.
Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company.
Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, injury, and other relevant topics.
Monitors compliance with safety procedures.
Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
Injury Illness Prevention Program, Pull Program, and injury log.
GPS - Vehicle reports – Teletrac safety and analytics, installation and reporting
State, county, and city inspections.
Business Response Plan
Help accounting department as needed.
Facilitate paperwork from the fabrication department.
