D&J Packing, LLC is a well-established, harvesting company in the Salinas Valley. We are looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join our team. Under the direction of the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Coordinator will assist and support in the achievement of Company short and long-term goals and objectives.
JOB TITLE: Payroll Coordinator
LOCATION: Salinas, California
SUPERVISOR: Payroll Manager
DATE OF OPENING: Immediate
STATUS: Full Time, hourly, Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm unless additional work is assigned
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure accuracy of timesheets
Agricultural piece-rate and hourly payroll system experience and knowledge
Calculate, compute and code timesheets
Perform customer service duties: answer telephones; problem solves with employees; help foremen with questions and paperwork; assist visitors
Maintain employee files
Perform annual record retention review and help with year-end process
File documents
Act as interpreter
Register new hire employees
Revise/update hiring documents as needed
Set up new employee files
Prepare source data for computer entry
Review and code vendor invoices
Perform other related duties as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
2 year’s work history
Strong verbal/written communication skills
Experience with Famous a plus
Knowledge of Farm Labor Crew data input
Strong knowledge of Microsoft office (excel use up to 90%).
Demonstrate initiative and willingness to help others
Ability to multitask
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Detail oriented
Self-motivated
Pleasant attitude, “team player”, professional demeanor
Must be bilingual (English – Spanish)
