Job Description
Our gardeners hold a central position in the year-round care and maintenance of our customers landscape and grounds. Applicants should be competent, physically fit, hardworking and have a keen personal interest in gardening.
Primary tasks:
⢠Weeding, planting, pruning and watering as well as the general maintenance and appearance of the grounds. This can include grass cutting, weed control, pond care and leaf raking.
⢠Planting new trees, flowers and a wide assortment of plants.
⢠Making sure that all garden equipment is correctly maintained and serviced. Undertaking the basic servicing and repair of all garden machinery.
⢠Maintain diverse plantings of trees, shrubs, vines, perennials, grasses, and bulbs.
⢠Hand-water and monitor irrigation of plantings, especially during time of establishment and drought.
⢠Perform seasonal landscape work including pruning, clean-up, bulb planting, dividing and transplanting, leaf removal.
⢠Scout for pests and disease.
⢠Monitor extensive irrigation systems for problems.
Qualifications:
⢠Ability to work alone or in groups, in all weather conditions.
⢠Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
⢠Flexibility to work long hours, holidays, and weekends as necessary.
⢠Travel up to 1.5 hours to a job site (carpooling encouraged).
⢠Valid CA state drivers license.
⢠Ability to handle electric equipment, power tools.
⢠Must be a team-player, willing to collaborate on any and all tasks required for maintaining the highest standards of landscape management and operations.
