This is a part-time position 3 - 4 days per week providing supervision and counseling after hours for youth in a Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program (STRTP). The Awake Night Staff works with boys ages 6 to 18 during the night shift from 10pm to 6am. Duties include supervision of youth during night time hours when youth are sleeping, domestic duties (cleaning and laundry), clerical activities, and prepping activities for next day. Awake Night Staff must work well with at-risk youth in a high-quality, personalized foster care setting while delivering high-quality intervention and life skills instruction.

Reports to: STRTP Facility Manager

Responsibilities:

1. Provide parental quality supervision, protection, and guidance to STRTP residents at night.

2. Be able to intervene during crisis situations and make appropriate decisions.

3. Supervise well-being of residents.

4. Communicate with peers and management team regarding residents behavior and needs.

5. Contribute to progress notes about STRTP residents.

6. Administrate discipline and set limits for appropriate behavior.

7. Transport residents in the event of an emergency.

8. Prepare snacks for residents as needed.

9. Report to STRTP Facility Manager and/or Clinical Director/Head of Service the identification of any additional needs or services for particular residents.

10. Assure cleanliness, appearance and maintenance of the facility.

Qualifications:

o Bachelors Degree

o Case management experience

o Experience working with at-risk children and older youth in a community-based setting

o Strong communication skills, interpersonal and listening skills

o Consensus and decision-making

o Self-directed and able to manage time effectively

o Ability to maintain and respect confidentiality as needed

Additional Requirements:

o Satisfy the Department of Social Services and Department of Justice finger print clearance requirements

o Possess a valid California Drivers License and have access to a reliable and insured vehicle

o Have a clean DMV printout

o Have negative T.B. Test

o Current First Aid/CPR certification
