Pacific Plug & Liner, a sister company to Smith Gardens has an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Representative to join our team at our Watsonville, CA Site. This is a fast-paced environment requiring rapid adaptability to our extensive product line and order entry and tracking system.

JOB FUNCTION:

Ensures delivery of excellent customer service through fast and accurate processing of orders, communication, and coordinating with other departments to resolve inquires.

JOB DUTIES:

Receive and respond to customer inquiries including orders, product lines and lead times for large volume of orders.

Enter orders and acknowledge receipt and entry to customers.

Document customer contacts including: order acknowledgements, notifications, order changes, pricing, complaints, credits and resolutions.

Identify and report any and all issues affecting customer satisfaction.

Act as liaison between customers and accounting in dealing with invoicing issues.

Audit freight charges and ensure accurate implementation of pricing programs.

Coordinate with Growing, Production Planning, Purchasing and Shipping departments to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Attention to detail, particularly in data and order entry capacities.

Ability to clearly and effectively communicate complex information both verbally and in written communications.

Possess high standards of performance characterized by attention to detail, managing time to meet deadlines and follow company policies and procedures in a fast paced environment.

Computer literacy with experience in Excel, Word and a willingness to learn internal proprietary software.

Professional telephone manner to enhance relationships with customers.

High integrity, adhering to Company standards and values.

Promote a safe work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

Knowledge of greenhouse, nursery, and young plant industry a plus but not required.

Previous customer service experience in an office setting preferred but not required.

Minimum of: High School diploma or GED.

Hours: it is expected that his position will require a minimum of 40 hours per week with extended hours during peak season or special events. Working longer days or Saturdays to make up missed time during the same pay period is allowed. Overtime (over 40 hours in a week) must be approved by Customer Service Manager.
