We are looking for a IT Field Service Technician! This is a Direct Hire position . Technician needs to be skilled, organized, a self-starter, excellent communicator with excellent follow-up. Completed tickets will be required for each job on a daily basis and often include both customer signatures and digital photographs. Techs must have laptop, cell phone and digital camera.
Duration of job varies dependent upon type of call. Typical week can vary from 25 to 40 hours per week.
Key responsibilities of this role include:
Cat5e/Cat6 wiring experience
Coaxial Wiring experience
Knowledgeable in structured cabling and other advanced technologies
(network, voice, phone, video)
tools (crimper, cable tester, etc.)
IT Computer & Network Experience
TCP/IP networking experience (Knowledge and understanding of basic networking protocols and standards) CCTV Camera POE and Analog Camera configuration and test experience
Cisco Router experience
Coaxial Wiring experience and tools (crimper, cable tester, etc.)
T1 Voice / test and turn-up experience
Cisco Router experience
VOIP testing and turn-up
Telephony wiring experience and tools (Butt Set, toner, punch down tool, etc.)
DSL wiring experience and tools (Butt Set, toner, punch down tool, etc.)
Install PCs, software, and peripheral equipment.
Connect PCs to the network.
Routers, Wireless, and other networking devices
Hardware replacement experience
OS/Software troubleshooting
Office suite; Word, Excel, & Outlook Express, etc.
Assist with PC, network configuration, and cabling.
Assist in the creation and maintenance of computer hardware.
Answer question and solve problems by applying knowledge of computer software, hardware, and procedures.

Laptop: will be provide if needed.
Windows Laptop with 802.11G wireless capability and a serial port or USB to serial adapter

Software:
Terminal software Hyperterm or Tera Term Signal Strength Logging
(output to .NS1 Format Netstumbler or InSSIDer MS Office Excel and Word)
Test equipment:
Working Telephone Test Set (Butt Set)
RJ 11/RJ45 Crimp tool
Adjustable pliers
Dikes/wire cutter pliers
DB9 Male to DB9 Male Serial Cable
(2) Standard Cisco router console connectors (DB-9F-to-RJ45) with a straight-through Ethernet cable.
Cat 5 Ethernet Straight through Patch Cables Cat 5 Ethernet Crossover Patch Cables
RJ45 Surface mount Data jacks (Biscuit Jacks)
RJ11 Surface mount phone jacks (Biscuit Jacks)
PAY will be between 17.50 to 32.50 per hour (based on experience)
