General Work Qualification
Competency to work as a team-carpenter to perform quality carpentry on all phases of wood construction projects from structural framing through finish work.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Ø Installing foundations and forms and various structural aspects of building.
Ø Framing Carpenters: Installing wood framing, blocking, backing, and roof truss components, using hand and electric tools to cut and fabricate and install framework components
Ø Trim/Finish Carpenters: Installing baseboard, staircase, standard trim, custom trim, crown
molding, architectural finish packages, decking, doors, windows and siding
Skills, Knowledge, Equipment & Other
Ø High level of competency in listening to and following verbal instructions.
Ø Basic ability to understand construction plan and details.
Ø Requires ability to perform math computations needed in trade
Ø Requires knowledge and skill in the use of hand power tools in the related trade.
Ø Provide own power hand tools
Ø Have Valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation to be able to travel to jobsites that are on the Monterey Peninsula, Big Sur and Carmel Valley locations.
Physical Demands
Ø While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
Ø The employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; and high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Ø Must be able to climb ladders onto raised areas and be able to work from scaffolding, able to set-up and safely operate various types of woodworking machines and electrical hand tools.
Ø Able to lift 80lbs Experience Required
Ø Requires a minimum of two years of experience as Apprentice Carpenter and two years as Carpenter working in residential custom home construction.
Ø Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish language a plus
