Job Description

The Senior Solution Architect will be responsible for consulting with the business areas to capture, prioritize, and justify technology needs and issues, and facilitate the delivery of solutions within the Skechers Distribution Network. This includes partnering with Project Managers and MHE systems vendors to define project scope and initiate projects and owning the process of turning business needs into software requirements and specifications. This person will coordinate with various teams to ensure requirements are accurately addressed in all aspects of technical delivery. Will also partner with the business areas to roll new systems, enhancements, and technologies out to business users.

Essential Job Results

  • Distribution Systems Support. Develops and Documents Systems Support processes.
  • Identifies Opportunities for improvement to IT Leadership team.
  • Test's Break Fixes and promotes to Production through release management process. Develops Reporting Specifications with business team members.
  • Under guidance, work as a member of IT team to support the needs of the Distribution Center.
  • Support data gathering and analysis of data as requested by Operations and IT management.
  • Provide input in the analysis, design, enhancement and implementation of business applications to support internal business functions.
  • Analyze business processes, identify causes of problems and make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Resolve less complex design problems. Follows established testing procedures to ensure applications are thoroughly tested.
  • Monitor and report to management on application health, identify issues that may impede attainment of goals, recommend and implement corrective measures.
  • Innovative solutions to improve business performance documented, developed, tested, and deployed.
  • Act as liaison between business application users and the IT department relative to requirements and solutions.
  • Work with other IT Business Analysts to conduct analysis of client business processes and functional requirements.
  • Develop in the preparation of appropriate documentation to communicate and validate the information.
  • Lead Work streams in all activities for a WMS implementation from requirements to go-live stabilization.
  • Analyze system issues to accommodate business needs using standard, best industry practices/processes.
  • Document and maintain knowledge artefacts for client's applications, including but not limited to:. Create training, support, process documents, and test scripts where applicable.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred Manhattan WMi System Support & Configuration. Strong SQL Experience. Strong Integration Troubleshooting.
  • Develops and documents functional requirements (requirements, process models, and use cases/user stories).
  • Interface and maintain proper communications with management and all departments in the operation, including but not limited to advising department heads regarding procedural issues, customer changes, and trends
  • Is able to set and change priority’s as business situation occurs
  • Works closely with other IT members in a global business environment
  • Travels within the global distribution network to review process and design /implement improvements and new functionality.
  • Reacts quickly and is able to prioritize projects aligned with business requirements.

Additional Responsibilities

This role will also participate in other activities including developing business architectures and strategies, business case development and trade-off analysis, business-level configuration and maintenance of Warehouse Management Software. This person will also utilize data query and analysis and provide leadership for small initiatives. Will also assist with the administration, configuration, and overall support of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and connected Materials Handling Equipment (MHE). Performs analysis of global distribution environment in order to enhance existing systems and develop new processes as business requirements are updated. Defines and implements these improvements in global Warehouse Management systems and distribution execution and processes. Connects data to business process and is able to explain link to the business.

Job Requirements

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to effectively troubleshoot and provide solutions.
  • Data query and analysis experience.
  • Experience with Distribution Automation systems such as Unit Sortation, Mini-Load or ASRS, Print/Apply systems.
  • Willing and able to travel to various sites within distribution network. Must hold US passport or equivalent.

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years’ experience with B2B and B2C Distribution of Footwear and/or Apparel
  • 5+ years’ experience with configuration and execution of Manhattan Associates WMS (WMi or WMOS – recent releases)
  • 5+ years’ experience in Business and/or functional analysis
