Job Title: Japanese-English bilingual Information Systems Engineer Job Type: Full-time (Exempt) Location: Newark, CA Salary: Depends on Experience SUMMARY Participates in every facet of the Information Systems department's technical operations and end-user support; improves existing computer system by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs tasks ranging from end-user support to implementation and maintenance of the information resources (hardware & software) including SAP R/3 system (Help Desk), Windows Server 2008/2012/2016 (Active Directory, Hyper-V, etc.), Lotus Domino/Notes (Groupware & Email), File servers, applications (MS Office, Anti-Virus, Online Meeting, CAD, etc.), mobile phones, routers & switches, firewall (VPN, Email filtering, etc.), peripherals, security systems at each business office of the hiring company.
Upgrades systems, performs data backup, and fixes errors to stabilize existing systems.
Improves current software resources by developing, testing, installing, or modifying programs.
Plans and prepares technical reports and instructional manuals and performs user training and education.
Studies existing information-processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required.
Conducts studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE A bachelor’s degree in computer field with system and network administration and programming knowledge or at least five years of experience in Information Technology field is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret Japanese and English documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals; ability to write reports and manuals in Japanese and English; ability to communicate effectively with groups of employees of the organization are required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability in mathematical basic concepts of probability and statistics is required.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations are essential.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS Traveling and visiting other business locations and subsidiary may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. General business office working environment.
