We are currently seeking a Co-Op, Interior Components and Systems team. This position requires a lively, enthusiastic individual keen to learn lots and work hard on injection molded parts, castings, 3D prints and more on interior components of the vehicle. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Own one or more technical projects related to interior components such as doors, trim, instrument panel, displays, or electro-mechanical assemblies and mechanisms
  • Apply data-driven decision making and teamwork to solve complex problems and questions
  • Support other engineers on the team in data collection and analysis, component/system design, project management, and logistics, and hands-on prototyping

  • You will assist in a range of supporting duties to broaden your exposure (BOM, PLM, and change management), as well as helping root cause physical issues and helping to design solutions using Catia 3DX
Qualifications
  • Associate's, Bachelor's, or Post-Secondary Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields (Must be in Second Year of collegiate studies or above)
  • entry level are eligible up to 12 months after graduation
  • Design experience creating a product in CAD and for some form of the manufacturing method. Injection molding for bonus points.
  • Hands-on experience making parts or working with things
  • Strong knowledge of prototyping, hands-on assembly, and disassembly of components
  • Basic understanding of injection molding tools, materials, and process


Preferred Qualifications

  • Related work experience in a previous internship is a plus
  • Experience in 3D design (e.g. CATIA, Solidworks, AutoCAD, Fusion) is a plus
  • A desire to apply what you know, but also question every assumption
Other
  • Programming Timing: September 7th - End date flexible. Our Co-Op program can run from three to 12 months depending on University requirements and individual availability; Some flexibility with start date is available if needed
  • Availability: Full-time preferred but Part-Time available
  • Location: This position is in Newark, CA. You must be prepared to start on site for your first day of employment
  • Work Environment: Production Lab
  • Anticipated Hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
  • Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable
  • Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S. employment authorization
  • Medical benefits: Dental and vision on day 1 for all interns working 30+ hours a week; medical for interns in California working 30+ hours a week
  • Housing: No compensation for housing
  • Bonus: No signing bonus, relocation bonus, equity, or other bonuses currently
  • Relocation: Round trip flight from/to permanent residence
  • Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area
  • Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check
  • Publications: This internship may involve access to and/or knowledge of Lucid confidential and proprietary information.
