DescriptionIf you're looking to build your career in accounting, there's currently a long-term temporary Staff Accountant position with Accountemps that you may want to check out. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. A highly involved position, it works to produce Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain monthly payment schedules
Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting
Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
RequirementsStrong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail
Strong attention to detail
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Property accounting experience desired
Expertise in Property Tax
ERP system experience
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Recent and relevant accounting experience
