About the position:

The intended purpose of the this position is to streamline the procurement of necessary materials and labor to facilitate efficient and cost-effective completion of projects. The candidate will be the main liaison between Varisco Design Build Group and the subs / vendors / suppliers. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating and directing a portfolio of projects that support VDBG’s annual strategic sales goals. The selected candidate will assist the General Contractor and the Project Team in the preparation and development of Scopes of Work, Cost Estimates and other duties using and developing VDBG’s proprietary pricing matrix.

Duties:

Review plans, scope, and specifications for all projects.

Submit Plans, scope and specs to subs and vendors for preliminary proposals.

Request updated proposals after engineering and permitting have been obtained. Procure at least two quotes for each trade.

Ensure timely delivery of special order items to the job site based on schedule provided by Project Manager.

Review active jobs daily in ProCore to stay ahead of materials needs.

Send notices to sales / PM if materials needed are not listed in ProCore.

Review Project Schedules weekly to ensure special order items are procured and delivered prior to installation date.

Attend weekly production meetings and in office preconstruction meetings.

Negotiate prices, delivery times, etc. with subs and vendors.

Meet with Project Managers / Designers regularly to ensure materials needs are met in a timely manner.

Recommend alternative materials, subs or vendors as needed to avoid scheduling and budgetary conflicts.

Collaborate with Sales Team and Design Department to establish Project Scope of work and items involved.

Develop Cost Estimates all new projects per the building Specifications and Blueprints.

Work with the Sales Team to ensure that the Blueprint and Specifications Sheet during the bidding process is accurate and then develop sales agreement off of the estimate for each project.

Develop Cost Estimates on any additional pricing upgrades and options that the buyers request after the initial build proposal, and put in an internal and external presentation format.

During the Build Process provide additional pricing for all inquiries from clients.

Process all change orders during the Build process.

Qualifications:

Minimum 10 years construction experience with 5 yrs supervisory experience.

Strong Experience and knowledge of Procore

Strong math and analytic skills

Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects concurrently

Proficient with computer, printer, scanner, general use.

Ability to liaise between departments / subs / vendors / suppliers to put together all required information to carry out prescribed duties.

Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred but not required.

3+ years’ experience in commercial construction or estimating required.

Knowledge of current commercial construction methods and building codes.

Strong, positive communication and customer service skills.

Highly motivated, honest, dependable, solid work ethic.

Familiar with sub trades

Must be able to read blueprints and construction drawings.

Computer literate; proficient with Excel, Word, Power Point, ProCore, Bluebeam Revu. Knowledge of estimating and/or project management software preferred.

The majority of the work to be completed will be done in-office but occasionally it may be necessary to visit a job site. The Construction Project Manager will generally work a 40-hour week. The normal workday for this position is dependent upon construction schedules but also flexible. Our in-office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This position requires the incumbent to occasionally bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and carry office materials and supplies weighing 25 pounds or less. Finger dexterity is required to operate a computer keyboard, smart phone and calculator.
