The Bartender runs the bar on our beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking downtown Main Beach, Downtown Laguna Beach and the Pacific Coast. The Bartender is responsible for day to day set up, operation of and takedown of the bar area. The Bartender also assists with events and banquets. A basic understanding of bartending is necessary but we are willing to train the right individual.
Essential Functions:
Usually works Wednesday through Sunday. Hours and days vary depending on time of year.
Ability to set up and move a portable bar
Great customer service skills, and the ability to keep guests engaged and enjoying themselves
Cash handlingwith a strict accountability to keep bank and money in order
Inventory of all bar related items
Servicing banquets and events of up to 80 people
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma required
Experience: Prior bar experience around bars preferable, though limited experience OK for the right individual. Prior hotel experience a plus.
Certificates or Licenses: ServSafe
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to make common cocktails, while also learning new mixed drinks
Ability to make quick and efficient decisions to benefit the team and guest.
Ability to memorize and perform Hotel Standards, AAA 3 diamond standards, and Mystery shopper standards
Strong organizational skills and time management

Professional Appearance: Exhibits an appearance appropriate for a three diamond hotel (Specific grooming standards are available for review)
Working Conditions:
This is a full time exempt position. Actual hours may vary dependent on business needs but will generally fall between 12:00 pm and 9:00 pm. Attendance as scheduled is a critical element in all positions. Availability for weekends and holidays is essential.
