We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the food industry, particularly in sushi preparation and fine dining settings. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and rolls, with attention to detail and artistic presentation.
Ensure all food is prepared according to health and safety regulations, maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to plan menus that highlight seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques and best practices.
Assist in catering events as needed, providing exceptional service and culinary expertise.
Stay updated on current trends in sushi preparation and presentation to enhance menu offerings.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within the restaurant industry.
Strong culinary skills with expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife skills.
Familiarity with dietary department operations and experience as a dietary aide is a plus.
Experience in menu planning and catering services is highly desirable.
Knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations is essential.
