Male quadriplegic seeking a private-duty caregiver to work three hours each morning on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and every other Wednesday (some flexibility on start time may be arranged). Experience with quadriplegic is ideal but can train committed caregiver.
The most important qualifications are honesty, reliability, discretion, and compatibility because of the personal nature of the work. This is not a basic companion position caregiving requires moderate physical effort, so caregiver must be reasonably healthy.
The essential caregiving activities include but are not limited to:bathingtoiletingrange-of-motion exercisesdressinghygienewheelchair transfers (with lift machine)basic breakfast preparationlaundrylight housekeepingassistance with other activities of daily livingFemale candidates are preferred but will consider male applicants with direct experience. This is not a live-in position. Caregiver must live in Irvine or adjoining city and have reliable transportation.
