Looking for a medical assistant for busy dermatology practice. Will work in Seal Beach on Tuesdays, Irvine rest of week. DERMATOLOGY EXPERIENCE PREFERRED, medical office experience A MUST We are a busy multi provider/multi office dermatology practice that does all skin care and Mohs surgery. Multi Tasking a must. Full time position. Hours will be 8:30 to 5:30, 9am to 6:00pm or 9:30 to 6:30pm, depending on day and which provider you are working with. Duties will include, but not limited to:

Puts patients in rooms and takes a brief history; stamps chart for lesion destruction/procedures, enter into EMR notes and pictures for biopsies.

-Assists with back office procedures, treatments, and set-ups as instructed and supervised by doctors, readies all equipment and supplies likely to be needed for a given patient

-Assists with examinations

-Assists patients any time a need is apparent or as directed by office manager or doctors

-Logs in pathology specimens, pulls charts and assists with logging diagnoses into charts; files glass slides in storage box correctly; arranges appropriate delivery, pick-up, mailing or overnight delivery for outgoing pathology or lab specimens (this is mainly for back office staff) Read slides with doctors when needed.

-Make calls to patients with positive biopsies on a weekly basis

-Prepares sample and literature disbursements for patients

-Keeps medical records and prescription records in accordance with procedures and forms

-Keeps rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies

-Washes, dries and sterilizes instruments as used and demonstrates proper terminology for instruments

-Is responsible for labeling and proper marking of biopsy specimens during procedures

-In charge of returning Rx refill calls or faxes, Erx's.

-Checks inventories of supplies in a timely and organized way; gives the list of needed items to Office Manager.

-Keeps work area clean and orderly at all times.

Prepares/copies correspondence, reports, memos and forms including patient intake, surgical consent, referral, etc

-Retrieves messages from voice mail and makes call-backs

-Checks doctors out-box frequently for things needing attention or distribution. This must be done at the end of each day, especially Fridays, so refill requests do not sit in doctors box all weekend.
