We are looking for a detailed oriented, reliable and responsible person to fill our opening for a dermatology front office receptionist. This is a Fulltime position. Hours would be either 8:30pm to 5:30pm, 9am to 6:00pm, or 9:30pm to 6:30pm, depending on the day and provider.
We are a busy, multi provider, multiple office dermatology practice.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
-Arrives on time according to schedule
-Opens office and turns on equipment daily
-Greets patients and visitors in a courteous and friendly manner
-Answers phone promptly, screens calls and appropriately takes messages, and schedules appointments -Accurately quotes fees and other office policies to potential patients and warmly encourages their patronage of our office
-Keep up to date on insurance company changes.
Maintains professional appearance and decorum at front desk when patients are present
-Follows up on confirmation of appointments daily;
-Posts transactions into computer, including visit charges, procedure charges, diagnoses, recalls, and insurance company claim information; all daily transactions must be completed before departing daily
-Verifies insurance eligibility, collects copayments or full payment depending on account type
-Is alert for credit problems and proper screening of patients, both in-person and on-telephone
-Checks inventories of supplies in a timely and organized way; gives the list of needed items to Office Manager.
-Keeps reception/waiting area tidy and neat as needed throughout the day
-Communicates instructions to patients on billing and medical conditions as instructed
-Prepares/copies correspondence, reports, memos and forms including patient intake, surgical consent, referral, etc
-Retrieves messages from voice mail and makes call-backs
-Learns FAX transmission, email and computer operations
-Checks doctor's out-box frequently for things needing attention or distribution
-Assists patients any time a need is apparent or as directed by office manager or doctor.
-Keeps medical records and prescription records in accordance with procedures and forms
-Properly closes office, turns off and covers equipment and forwards phones when leaving office
-Above all, understands and follows the principles of medical ethics and patient confidentiality.
Benefits for full time position include, 6 Holidays a year, 80 hours of vacation time after completion of 1 year employment.
