We have an immediate need for a Medical Assistant for a very prestigious GI practice in Newport Beach. Must be willing to work Full Time.

The ideal candidate is someone who possesses excellent customer service skills and experience, excellent verbal skills, is great at multitasking, and is a quick learner and self-starter.

Located in Newport Beach and affiliated with Hoag hospital, this office serves an exceptional patient base. Located in a beautiful new building with the latest amenities, this office provides a prestigious and comfortable environment for our patients and our medical team.

The Medical Assistant (MA) works under the supervision of a physician provides a variety of patient care tasks including: preparation of patients to be seen by physicians, prep charts for the following day which includes, reviewing the schedule, printing medication lists, reviewing the last visit, obtaining hospital documents, labs & radiology results, call patient’s to ensure ordered tests have been completed and we have results. The MA must monitor and communicate changes in the patient's condition and document interactions. MA's partner with the physician, other clinical staff, front desk staff and coordinators to create an efficient, effective and caring environment. The MA rooms patients, which included assisting during any exams and or in office procedures. MA's must also perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, back up of fax queue, and patient registrations.

This individual must have working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records and MS Office programs such as Word and Excel, be familiar with medical terms and vocabulary, and have a clear understanding of the requirements of HIPAA. They must be able to demonstrate the ability to maintain strict patient and corporate confidentiality.

Required Experience and Knowledge:

• Experience working in a medical office setting

• Experience with electronic medical records

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Knowledge of MS Office programs (Word, Outlook)

Preferred Education Requirements:

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program

• Certification in Medical Assisting (CMA)

Minimum Experience: 1+ years working in a medical office as a Medical Assistant
