The First United Methodist Church of Fullerton is soliciting candidates for the part time position of Administrative Assistant and Social Media Coordinator. This position is responsible for the efficient operation of the church office and all functions that support the ministerial staff and other staff members. Responsible to create and maintain a strong online presence to aid in the mission of the church. Manage all communications, including telephone, email, congregation mailings, and across multiple social media platforms. Efficiently run the church office using excellent organizational skills and mastery of word processing, publishing, spreadsheets, and church management systems. Duties include, but are not limited to:

● Organize and direct church office functions including, but not limited to, responsibility for church membership roster; maintain the church master calendar, arrange and train volunteers for Sunday office coverage, recruit and maintain liturgist schedule for worship services, coordinate office flowers, assist with membership forms for Charge Conference, and manage community requests.

● Manage all communications, including social media platforms.

● Maintain the church website and coordinate appropriate social media postings on Facebook, Instagram, and other social media sites to further our mission in the community.

● Congregational care and management, as directed

● Prepare and distribute communication to members, such as Order of Worship, Weekly Connection, and others as assigned.

● Greet, direct, and inform visitors to provide current information on church services, wedding services, and other church activities.

● Purchase and maintain all office supplies, coordinate the maintenance of all office equipment, and request postage within budget.

Qualifications/Experience Required

● Four years prior office experience, preferred.

● Proven work experience as a Social Media Coordinator with expertise in multiple social media platforms

● Knowledge of computers including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher, Excel, Mail Chimp, databases, spreadsheets, graphics, Internet, and social network platforms.

● Knowledge of church management systems, preferred

● Able to work with minimal supervision.

● Ability to direct others and coordinate volunteers

● Knowledge of general office procedures and the ability to operate office equipment.

● Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)

● Able to assess priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining flexibility.

● Typing at a minimum of 60 wpm

This position is for 20-25 hours per week, with required office hours from 9 to 1pm, Monday-Thursday. Other hours require flexibility as workload varies.

This person will need to be present for staff meetings, church council meetings and any other related meetings.
