Looking for a part-time position in a fun and creative environment? Look no further!

1. Dynamic and Responsible Pottery Studio Manager needed!

2. Friendly and Energetic Pottery Assistant needed!

The Ceramics Studio is a full-service pottery studio locally owned by Master Ceramist, Melissa Thomson. The studio caters to artists at every age level, lessons, classes, camps, story-time, in-studio special events and offsite community events!

Studio Hours: Tue-Fri 1PM-6PM, Saturdays 11AM-6PM

The Studio Manager will work 15+ hours, Fridays and Saturdays required.

As a studio manager, your job will be to help create a welcoming environment for all, manage the varied staff, manage marketing outreach and customer record-keeping.

You will be working with ceramics, but managing the shop is the Studio Managers priority.

Youll need to be familiar with:

Excel and Microsoft Word

Mail-chimp and Gmail

Wordpress

Meet-up

Facebook and Instagram

Coordinating groups for events, fundraisers, and parties

Additional Requirements:

Experience in customer service and marketing

Experience in the arts (ceramics preferred)

Retail / Point of Sale system familiarity

Able to manage a diverse team of staff and students

Flexible amid shifting priorities in a fast-moving environment

Ready and able to take initiative and ownership of projects

Kind and Compassionate with an eye for detail

Willingness to learn The Ceramics Studio method of ceramics

18 years of age or older

Pay & Benefits

Pay: Starting at $16 per hour. Increase with experience.

As a studio assistant, your job will be to help create a warm and welcoming environment for all customers, members, students and campers. You will teach the public and students how to throw pots on the wheel, hand-build with wet clay using slab, coil and pinch methods, help with the glazing process as well as conduct retail procedures. Each employee participates in all studio operations including opening, closing, restocking, pricing, wedging clay and forever keeping a CLEAN AND ORDERLY STUDIO!

Essential Skills, Experience and Abilities

Experience in ceramics

Experience in customer service

Retail experience preferred, with proficiency of Point of Sale system

Outgoing, easy-going demeanor and excellent people skills

The ability to partner with a diverse team of staff and students

Flexible and able to manage shifting priorities

Able to work within an ambiguous, fast-moving environment

A self-starting individual, ready to take initiative and ownership of projects

Familiarity and desire to continually improve upon personal artistic experience/abilities and all studio operations

Personal qualities of kindness, integrity, credibility, and commitment to share the love of art to our customers

Excellent attention to detail with an ability to create effective systems and processes

Knowledge and ability to share/post activities on social media

Willingness to clean¦ A LOT

Willingness to shift previously learned methods in ceramics to those of the owner

Pay & Benefits

The position is part time at 14-30 hours per week, Fridays and Saturdays required

Pay: $12 per hour; (Must be at least 18 years old); Start training immediately!
