Palm Springs Accounting firm looking for an energetic, experienced, detail-oriented professional to prepare taxes for both corporate and individual clients.

The professional will be responsible for client interviews, reviewing of reports, and the tax preparation process.

The position will also include client bookkeeping, tax research & planning.

The Tax Preparation/Bookkeeping Specialist primary duties include but are not limited to the

following:

Advise clients in the tax preparation process.

Interview clients to get a thorough understanding of financial situation and their financial goals longer term.

Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of current expenditures.

Verify tax returns to ensure accuracy.

Identify potential deductions and credits.

Make recommendations against potential tax liabilities.

Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals or small companies utilizing the appropriate tax code.

Help taxpayers by using their federal, state and local codes and see to it that clients receive the maximum benefit permitted under the law of government.

Take incoming calls from clients to answer tax questions and set up tax preparation appointments.

Ensure the confidentiality of each client by following all company procedures regarding information handling.

Grow the business by promoting our services and expanding our client base.

Education and Experience

At least three years of experience in the preparation of State and Federal

income tax returns.

College degree in Business or Accounting is preferred.

Solid knowledge of accounting, and tax preparation practices and procedures.

Experience performing tax research on corporate and individual issues.

Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, QuickBooks, Excel and Lacerte required.
