As an Advanced RF Test Engineer, you will collaborate with various engineers and other cross-functional groups to develop and document test setup plan and procedures. You will have the opportunity to learn, integrate, and validate RF test setup integral to the successful completion of Satellite RF tests. For development efforts, you will provide identification, installation and implementation of test equipment, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems. You will work closely with other engineers to identify potential test setup barriers and find resolution.

What you'll do day-to-day:
  • Perform RF test link budgets, then identify and request test parts and equipment needed to close RF test link budget
  • Create interconnect test drawing (ICD) design using AutoCAD drawing tool to show interfaces between test equipment and the Satellite
  • Work closely with Mechanical engineer to plan test setup design by identifying and resolving any mechanical barriers
  • Work seamlessly with RF test and system engineers to define test plans per contract requirements, and provide test plan execution for any new or specialized RF tests
  • Write and release test documentations and/or procedures
  • Execute test equipment functional testing, system testing, regression, and performance testing, in the laboratory and in the field
  • Identify basic analog test requirements (e.g., power supplies, current draw, etc.) and RF components that will be used in the test setup
  • Screen, review, and approve high RF power test loads
  • Perform test setup dry runs, troubleshoot, and resolve issues prior to executing actual tests
  • Setup and calibrate fault detection test system used in high RF power testing
  • Provide both internal and external deliverables on time
  • Support 24/7 Spacecraft schedule, when needed


Minimum Requirements:
  • Must = or permanent resident
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering or related field. Four years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Understand the operation of various types of test equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, Digital Volt Meters, Spectrum Analyzer, Signal Generator, PNA-X network analyzers
  • Good understanding of RF and electrical fundamentals


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Interest in RF, Communication Systems, and/or Electrical Engineering
  • Some basic level of Programming language skills
  • Experience with drawing CAD tool such as AutoCAD
  • Understand mechanical concepts relating to test setup
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills across a geographically diverse team members and managers
