Maxar is currently seeking a Communication Systems Engineer to join our Space Systems Architecture group. This position will be located in Palo Alto, California, with the opportunity for hybrid remote work.

In this role, you will be part of the team responsible for participating in the development and analysis of system test requirements and systems specifications for the RF payload subsystem. You will work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of identifiable factors such as cost, quality, reliability, manufacturability impact to schedule, and process improvement. You may participate in Engineering Review Boards.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the development of RF system test procedures and performs routine RF system test analysis
  • Prepares standard documentation for review by more senior engineers
  • Performs system integration trade studies and analysis under the direction of more senior engineers
  • Identifies technical problems and recommends solutions
  • Supports RF system level test activities
  • Hands on involvement in the testing and troubleshooting of the RF payload during spacecraft integration and test
  • Evaluates RF payload test data vs. design requirements and, based on the results, recommends further actions


Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • B.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mathematics, physics or related field. Four additional years of RF related experience may be substituted for a degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of RF relevant or related work experience
  • Understanding of mathematics and physics as they relate to electrical systems and components
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office


Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
  • With MS degree, some experience is desirable but not required
  • Understanding of and proficiency in the use of computer aided design tools such as AWR Microwave Office, Advanced Design System (ADS), or Ansys HFSS
  • Some experience with C, VBA, Matlab, or Python desirable
