Your best is waiting to be discovered.Day - 08 Hour (United States of America)This is a Stanford Health Care job.A Brief OverviewThe Director of Clinical Services, Cancer Destination Service Line ITA is accountable for the nursing, clinical services, apheresis and for delivering chemotherapy infusion services provided across the Cancer DSL Network sites. The Director is responsible for all the coordination and systematization of ITA nursing services and is directly responsible for the delivery of safe and efficient chemotherapy services across all the network sites. This includes responsibility for planning, organizing, and coordinating the nursing care, and chemotherapy services in network clinics to provide high quality, compassionate and cost-effective infusion services. The Director will establish and maintain a care delivery model designed to meet the clinical and service needs of clients and implement standards and policies which ensure safe and efficient practices. Collaborates with Human Resources on the recruitment and selection of qualified employment candidates, following all policies, guidelines and applicable laws.

Regularly measures staff's performance against established criteria-based performance standards; utilizes evaluations as an objective management tool for counseling staff members to higher levels of performance, to facilitate their professional development and maximize their contribution towards established institutional goals. Always takes immediate action in serious disciplinary situations; documents actions taken and the rationale for the decision.

Develops and implements policies that guide and support the provision of services; ensures that policies and procedures are compatible with the function and goals of the SHC Cancer DSL and meet the external regulatory and statutory requirements.

Works actively and collaboratively with Hospital and Ambulatory Nursing Leadership, CRONA and Cancer DSL leadership teams to ensure a collaborative work environment in accordance with C-I-CARE principles.

Effectively assists in providing leadership, direction, and the administration of operations to ensure compliance with established institutional objectives and the delivery of optimal quality cancer care services.

Works with Cancer DSL leadership team to integrate ITA with clinics, procedural areas and all Cancer DSL departments to provide a seamless experience for Cancer DSL patients and families. Actively participates in quality improvement activities, Cancer DSL operational priorities and expansion efforts.

Effectively provides direction and policy interpretation to managers in managing their respective areas of responsibility; offers advice in handling special human resources matters and administrative concerns.

Ensures that departments/areas comply with or exceed all regulatory requirements including, but not limited to, JCAHO, CAP, OSHA, FACT, FDA, QOPI, and MAGNET.

Guides/informs the preparation of Cancer DSL ITA budgets and allocation of funds based upon review of department estimates/recommendations, familiarity with operating procedures and cost/revenue projections.

Reviews all department requests for capital expense items and submits, with recommendations, to the Executive Director of the Cancer DSL.

Establishes an efficient operation and culture of process improvement including effective use of scheduling management tools (e.g. iQueue), optimization of EHR and regularly benchmarks operations against AMC Best Practices in ITA operations, complex treatments and patient acuity.

Participates in hospital, ambulatory, and Cancer DSL meetings and committees as appropriate.

Education QualificationsBachelor's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Required

Master's degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications5 years of progressively responsible directly related work experience in administrative and/or managerial positions.

Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Required Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of principles and practices of organization, administration, fiscal and personnel management.

Knowledge of theory, principles, methods, and equipment of chemotherapy.

Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to the functional area.

Demonstrated ability to make decisions based on fact and sound judgment.

Demonstrated ability to establish effective relationships and communication with staff, clinical leadership team, physicians, other healthcare professionals and patients and families.

Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and influence others.

Demonstrated ability to foster effective working relationships and build consensus.

Demonstrated ability to mediate and resolve complex problems and issues.

Licenses and CertificationsRN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure And/Or Compact State Licensure required

OCN - Oncology Nurse Certification preferred
