job summary:

The Sr. Drupal Consultant will provide full-stack development services (front-end, back-end, database, and systems administration) for internal platforms that support the functions of the SCPMG Medical Imaging Technology and Informatics (MITI) department. She/he will work in partnership with designers, users, technical staff, and others to develop and augment a robust workflow-centric online platform to serve stakeholder and department needs. She/he will be accountable for platform configuration, module development, and workflow integrations. The developer will also advise on the adoption of new functions and features. The Platform Consultant also consults on change management and training of all personnel in the use of the internal platforms.


This is highly responsible work maintaining and maturing web presence, both Internet and Intranet. Will be responsible for creation of concept, design, testing and maintenance of web sites, pages and applications. Will meet frequently with staff before and during project, to ascertain requirements, and also afterwards to train staff in the proper maintenance of web pages and proper use of web applications. General duties will include advising web developers and management on all aspects of web development from technology to functionality to graphics.


Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions:



  • Develop, maintain, and optimize a secure and scalable multi-user internal web application
  • Integrate and configure the Maestro workflow management system into Drupal 8 for various current and future workflows
  • Create responsive interfaces compatible with Drupal 8 CMS
  • Identify, install, and configure Drupal contributed modules to solve business needs
  • Create custom Drupal modules to address needs not covered by contributed modules
  • Work with a diverse team (project managers, consultants, users, stakeholders, designers, etc.) operating in an Agile environment
  • Translate user stories into technical plans
  • Inform the development of user training programs and materials

Qualifications:



  • Experience Level: 6-10 Years.
  • Bachelors Degree Required
  • Expert in developing with HTML, JavaScript (experience with Bower, NPM, or jQuery a plus), and CSS (Less or SASS a plus)
  • Expert in configuring and managing Drupal 8 websites
  • Expert in developing custom modules and themes for Drupal
  • Proficiency with Drush, Composer, and Drupal Console
  • Extensive familiarity with Drupal's API
  • Solid SQL experience with MySQL (or MariaDB)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to mentor others in areas of technological expertise

    Preferred Work Experience and Qualifications (Indicate preferred years of job experience, skills or abilities required for the job.)

    Knowledge of mobile web interfaces.
  • Experience managing Linux systems such as CentOS
  • Experience administering and developing workflow management systems
  • Experience in integrating web applications with external REST-based web services or other API services
  • Experience using Docker
  • Experience developing in an Agile software development environment, including pair programming
  • Working knowledge of source control management tools such as GIT or SVN
  • Working knowledge of networking and protocols pertaining to web applications
  • Working knowledge of web/online application security
  • Experience in responsive design (breakpoints, grids, resolutions, pixel ratio, touch)
