The successful candidate will develop and maintain algorithms that produce land surface temperature science data products from satellite remote sensing thermal infrared data. Research code written by scientists in Matlab and/or Python will be converted into C production code, including all testing and verification of results.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Conversion of code from Python and/or Matlab into C/C production code. Note, there will be numerous examples of a number of current operational C algorithms to work from.
Debugging, testing, and keeping track of code versions and modifications during delivery and testing phases.
Reporting and communicating on a weekly basis on status of work and coding updates
Making necessary modifications to existing code and algorithms for improvements and reprocessing
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in STEM and at least 5 years of related professional experience
This position requires a U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
Requirements
Working knowledge and professional experience in Python, Matlab and C programming
Knowledge with code conversion between Matlab and Python programming languages, and between Matlab and C.
Ability to work and learn new skills as part of a larger team
Experience working in Linux environments and running code in these environments
