Summary:

The Director, Application Development will be responsible for the planning, design, development, reporting and operations of enterprise servicing applications. This position is responsible for leading a talented and developing a diverse team of business minded technology experts in a fast-paced agile environment. This position will work closely cross-functional business leaders, peers and technology leadership to ensure our systems are positioned for the growth of the company. This includes analysis, design, develop and test, ensuring the deployment of reliable, secure, and scalable business-critical applications and platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. in computer science or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in technical management & leadership role.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Technology primarily focused managing financial applications in banking, lending or consumer products.
  • Requires experience working in a large financial services, payments or business to consumer institutions.
  • Preferred experience working with core financial services and lending platforms, including interfacing 3rd-party systems into the core platform, communication and contact center and AI platforms. Experience with Fiserv Spectrum and Pathways is preferred.
  • Experience in SDLC Processes, CI/CD and Agile Methodologies.
  • Experience with banking systems, loan origination systems, and other credit union or banking systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with communication and AI platforms such as Contact Center, Chat, chat-bot and RPA also desirable.

Competencies Required:
  • Requires experience working in a regulated environment and responding to inquiries and findings of regulators and auditors. Requires working knowledge of National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), or equivalent regulations, California Credit Union Law and Rules and Regulations, and other applicable federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Effective leader with exceptional interpersonal & communication skills and strong history of effective staff development. Must possess strong coaching, mentoring and motivation skills, utmost integrity, and be a team player. Demonstrated excellence in leading diverse work teams.
  • Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience interfacing with all levels of staff and management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams including Product Management, Finance and Accounting, Operations, and Branch, Applications and Technical-Support.
  • Demonstrated excellence in establishing development standards and enforcing quality review and documentation standards.
  • Must be fluid in working with Microsoft desktop software including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in implementing a responsive operations and support organization. Proven ability to establish and meet service level expectations.
  • Requires demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting, control and reporting.
  • Requires experience with vendor management including contract review, security review, performance management, and demonstrated success in contract negotiation.
