Responsible for all Pacmac and Ishida scale setup and operation as required by production.
Must be able to read product specifications and understand packaging parameters
Must be able to verify bag seal integrity, zipper functionality, gusset, and bag coding
Must be able to make alterations to equipment to correct any packaging errors.
Must be able to complete bag weight check and explain net weight program.
Must be able to calibrate and zero scales, make adjustments to target drop weight, and set upper control limits to prevent underweight packages and minimize over-pack.
Must be able to change Pacmacs over to 5lb, retail, and gusseted bags based on production schedule demands.
Inspect seal bars and replace Griper cord if needed
Replace broken knife blades
Adjust pull belts
Clean Nip Rollers and Drive rollers
Clean heater bars
Assure radial feeder clamps are tight and In good condition.
Replace heater bar tape when needed.
Must be able to adjust and correct film tracking and sealing issues.
Must ensure equipment is running properly, and make any basic adjustments and repairs necessary to minimize downtime.
Must be able to operate a forklift and/or pallet jack as needed.
Must be able to complete paperwork required for production, Quality Control, and/or supervisor.
Must perform QC checks as required.
Other assigned duties as directed
Assure line is cleaned for change overs
Help maintain and improve quality and food safety, to insure compliance with company quality standards and USDA regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English (oral & written)
Must be able to effectively communicate operational details to management.
Ability to calculate basic math skills.
Ability to work without supervision and be self motivated.
Must have good attendance.
Must be able to work safely and maintain good safety record
Must be able to lift 5- 50lbs repetitively
Must be able to stand for prolonged periods on hard surfaces.
Must be to follow instructions
Ability to work in wet, cold and/or hot environment
Must adhere to GMPs
