Job Summary
The Engineer/Mechanic Manager is responsible for all maintenance personnel and activities of our seafood processing plant. You will assist in developing/reviewing specifications and purchasing of equipment. You will lead the installation of equipment and be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance systems and procedures are properly designed and fully implemented. Will plan and manage the plant's utilities requirements to meet production needs, as well as analyze and coordinate the plant's required resources for support of production and efficient maintenance cost. You will ensure the plant is HACCP/GMP/OSHA complaint and oversee preventive maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance department, providing direction and leadership Ensure performance standards of equipment Management of operating budget for the department Communication with plant, management to address equipment operational efficiencies Develop schedules and supervise corrective, preventive, and predictive maintenance for the plant Manage contractors for maintenance agreements and specific repairs Manage pricing for equipment and part purchases Work closely with production, sanitation, and planning to find and implement solutions to improve production and plant efficiency Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records data keeping of maintenance projects Facilitate equipment and asset controls Provide project management for capital projects; supervise the fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new equipment. Assist with operating and capital budget preparation, and monitor maintenance costs Ensure regulatory compliance with HACCP/CGMP/FSSC 22000 and other certifications Required Experience/Education
Bachelor's degree in Electronics/Electrical Technology and/or equivalent formal training and work experience. 5 years' experience managing a perishable food processing maintenance/engineering environment 5 years of department management experience Experience utilizing CMMS software Training/ knowledge of the troubleshooting machinery such as Bizerba, Marel, Multi-vac Solid understanding of piping systems, machine design, and process design including blueprint reading
