Our client in the Sacramento area has a 12+ month contract opportunity for a
Technical Writer - Siebel to SalesForce Conversion.
This role can be worked remotely but will need to accommodate west coast hours.
We are looking for someone that is extremely process heavy. In this role you will be doing technical writing for the conversion legacy Siebel CRM over to Salesforce CRM. Experience documenting and using Salesforce will be critical so that our client can successfully transition and translate the old technology to the new technology.
General Summary
Support the Sales and Service Modernization Program by ensuring that procedure and process documents affected by the program are updated and accurate.
Essential Functions
Gather and analyze technical, system and business information from various sources to document new or changing functionality and process.
Collaborate with internal teams, including Developers, Business Analysts, Program Management, Product Owners, Training, subject matter experts and Business & Sales Enablement.
Actively participate in impact analysis and ensure that process and procedure impacts are identified and appropriately reflected for impacted users.
Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information and instructions for greatest reader comprehension and writes and edits technical information accordingly
- Updates existing docs to reflect changes to functionality and composes new documents as necessary.
Write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for system users.
Administrates appropriate review, version control and publishing process for content being produced or updated.
Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation work to meet product release dates and client deliverables. Provide timely status updates.
Typically has the following skills or abilities:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Technical Writing, Curriculum Development or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum five years' experience in technical writing or similar role.
Experience working with Subject Matter Experts.
Experience working with Agile/Scrum software development teams.
Familiarity with SalesForce and SF Knowledge environment and sales administration preferred.
Demonstrated analytical skills, business decision making skills and working in a team environment.
Ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders both internally and externally.
Experience in working with source control systems and tools, ex: JIRA
Effective communication skills with ability to influence others
Strong problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
Demonstrate ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization as well as outside the company
Strong organization skills to prioritize multiple tasks while working effectively in a very fast paced and dynamic environment
