JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Controller is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the accounting department including preparation of financial statements, general ledger entries, reconciliations, and analysis while ensuring that the processes comply with US GAAP and corporate policies. The position requires attention to detail, excellent problem solving, and the ability to carry out multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. This role supports company financial objectives by providing financial analyses and recommendations. Serves as a consultant to managers, advising on current budgetary information. Monitors and approves financial processing, reporting, and auditing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Month-end close process including financial statement preparation, journal entries and account reconciliations by ensuring timely, accurate and complete financial records and reporting in accordance with US GAAP, legal requirements, and the Company's corporate policies.

Maintain the general ledger system and chart of accounts, review transaction details to ensure postings are properly classified in the correct periods.

Perform analytical review of financial statements indicating reasons for variations from budget and year to date trends.

Monitor and manage cash flow forecasting, revenue and commitments.

Maintain the cash accounting activities, including the recording of deposits and preparation of bank reconciliations.

Supervise the processing of accounts payable to ensure all vendor invoices and estimates are accurately recorded.

Supervise the processing of accounts receivable, including assistance with collection efforts.

Maintain the Company's fixed asset records in accordance with its capitalization policy, record monthly depreciation, and prepare related monthly schedules.

Support and assist in the periodic financial audits, preparation of tax returns and other federal, state, local and statutory filings.

Perform special projects, system enhancements or any ad hoc projects as directed by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA preferred.

6+ years of hands-on accounting experience.

Comprehensive understanding of financial accounting & cost accounting, depreciation, forecasting, and audit preparation.

Managerial abilities and effective communication skills.

Analytical abilities, good planning and organization skills.

Have a process-improvement mindset and possess a positive can-do attitude.
