Job Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
To lead, direct, develop, and grow the High School Ministry as we seek to accomplish the mission of Redding Christian Fellowship.
TRANSFORMING LIVES BY HELPING OTHERS TAKE THEIR NEXT STEP IN FOLLOWING JESUS.
JOB SUMMARY
Partner with parents to reinforce the spiritual growth of High School students and to create fun, engaging environments where High School students are loved in the community and developed through Biblical truth.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Partner with parents in the spiritual development of their student
Provide resources for parents, keep parents informed on events and what students are learning
Grow in your spiritual life through Bible study, prayer, and faithful obedience
Walk with parents through tough phases and difficult decision
Encourage, pray for, meet with, counsel and be available to parents
2. People and Team Development
Recruit, train, equip and encourage High School leaders to be effective and spiritually mature
Develop a strong team of leaders to invest in the lives of students through ongoing training and team building
Create and maintain new volunteer opportunities within student ministries
Be a conscientious citizen of the community & society
3. Provide sound teaching of God’s Word to students
Prepare and teach relevant and engaging messages for weekly services
Recruit and develop other student ministry leaders to teach
Select and guide implementation of curriculum and small group materials
Research and evaluate teaching strategies
Pursue personal and professional development
4. Create fun and engaging environments to connect students in the community
Weekly High School services
Camps, retreats, and conferences
Outreach events
Small Group gatherings
5. Be a member and regular participant of Redding Christian Fellowship
Assist in all churchwide events (Christmas, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, etc.)
Staff and Administration - Maintain excellent working relationships with all colleagues and conform to all supervisory and organizational requirements.
1. Abide by Redding Christian Fellowship’s Policies and Procedures Manual and By-Laws.
2. Participate in discussions as requested in the revising and formulation of RCF’s vision and direction.
3. Contribute to an open and supportive relationship with other staff by collaborating with colleagues, especially in the family, children's, and student ministries.
4. Propose & administer an annual ministry program budget.
5. Be fully responsive to his/her supervisor, fulfilling all assignments and attending all required meetings with necessary preparation.
6. Encourage a working atmosphere free from sexual and or abusive harassment.
7. Perform other “work-related” functions as deemed necessary by the Board of Elders and approved by the Lead and/or Associate Pastor.
8. Attend all staff meetings
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution preferred
Strong Biblical knowledge and ability to communicate effectively
