GENERAL SUMMARY: The Maintenance Department Shop Helper is responsible for assisting certified technicians as they perform inspections, repairs, and overhauls for our piston and turbine aircraft to ensure airworthiness. IFTs aircraft resources meet Part 141 conformity and strict safety standards to ensure a reputable training product for all of our clients, customers and employees.

The Maintenance Department Shop Helper contributes to aircraft equipment safety by maintaining high standards of workmanship and attention to detail. They are required to assist in aircraft preparation for inspection and testing of structures, systems, component parts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the direct supervision of a Maintenance Technician the employee will:

1. Tug aircraft to and from maintenance

2. Wash and detail aircraft.

3. Remove and replace inspection panels to allow technicians to perform inspections.

4. Performs miscellaneous duties such as, aircraft servicing to include draining crankcase oil, cleaning screens, lubricating moving parts.

5. Ensure that the hangar workshops and other areas are maintained in an orderly manner.

6. Maintain the Company owned tool box.

7. Perform errands and parts runs to numerous local vendors.

8. Acquire and deliver aircraft to and from parking area and hangar.

9. Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

1. Ability to use personal computer, Microsoft Office programs and Internet helpful.

2. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in written and spoken English.

3. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions to facilitate the decision-making process and safety.

4. Ability to plan and prioritize work efficiently.

5. Awareness of IASCO Flight Trainings company culture and country culture of the students.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or equivalent. California Drivers License

COMMENTS:

This position requires solid communication skills; friendly and positive behavior, and a clean and neat appearance. This flight school will operate 24 hours/7 days a week and requires multiple shift work loads.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Diverse environments (buildings are forced air cooled and heated), mild/moderate outdoor exposure to dust, pollen, Avgas and other fumes. Moderate to heavy changes in altitude and temperature and heavy exposure to noise from aircraft engines, and moderate exposure to radiation from the sun.
