The Accounting Supervisor position is a hands-on role and is responsible for leading the accounts payable team. This person will work frequently and collaboratively with all levels of the business including senior management, location managers, purchasing, logistics and sales, as well as external auditors and business partners. This position requires full participation in department initiatives, providing technical training and mentoring to the team members.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise day-to-day operations of Accounts Payable team
Responsible for accurate, timely and complete processing of all A/P transactions and coding to General Ledger including transactions for multiple locations/profit centers and related companies
Responsible for all government filings on a semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
Reconcile select general ledger accounts including prepaid, accounts payable and accrued expense accounts
Review and maintain fixed asset schedule and cost allocation to multiple profit centers
Develop a motivated, high performing team that understands its goals and is accountable to them, creating a sustainable workload allocation process to ensure team is balanced, meeting targets objectives
Develop, implement and enforce accounting policies and procedures
Provide payables KPIs and other metrics for measuring efficiencies to senior management
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in A/P/Accounting/Finance involving inventory with at least 2 years in supervisory role
Proven ability to work under multiple competing and shifting priorities, stay organized and continuously meet deadlines
Knowledge of GAAP
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel including Vlookup and pivot tables
Working knowledge of ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics Nav a plus
Experience with A/P automation systems; MediusFlow, SAP Ariba, Concur or Corcentric a plus
