The Data Architect will be a highly seasoned technologist, who has successfully led and delivered multiple large-scale technical projects in complex environments. The candidate will be well versed in the details of a wide range of technologies, both software and hardware. A strong background in databases and search is required along with the ability to solve complex data issues
The primary responsibilities of this position will be to:

• Provide thought leadership in the areas of advanced data techniques including data modeling, data access, data integration, data visualization, text mining, data discovery, statistical methods, data base design and implementation
• Design, build and troubleshoot complex enterprise software and hardware architectures from inception of ideas through development and handing off for long term sustainability of customer projects, including the development of the strategy roadmap for the enterprise as it relates to data modeling, implementation and data management, and data analytics systems
• Provide insight into the changing database storage and utilization requirements for clients and offer suggestions for solutions
• Provide leadership in establishing analytic environments required for structured, semi-structured and unstructured data
• Analyze database implementation methods to make sure they are in line with clients' company policies and any external regulations that may apply
• Create data monitoring models for each product and work with respective clients' teams to create models ahead of new releases
• Develop database design and architecture documentation for clients' management and executive teams
• Help maintain the integrity and security of the clients' database
• Develop concepts for analyzing Big Data and providing applicable analytics and Business Intelligence solutions
• Provide data management and utilization aspects related identified solution
• Construct efficient Data Governance structures to include Data Owners, Data Stewards and Data Maintenance definitions, assignments and responsibilities
• Define Data Architecture designs to include Master Data Management, Transactional Data Flows, data elements relations and data archiving methods
• Provide valuable customer insights and recommendations for RFIs and RFPs
• Participate in Business Intelligence projects, working with business and IT groups using both Agile and Waterfall methods
• Provide practical direction on information and analytics platforms

Mandatory Qualifications:

• 10+ years of professional experience including experience leading a team in a directly related area
• 5+ years of experience in delivering enterprise architectures in complex environments from design to deployment, including hands-on development and all forms of testing
• Extensive experience in multi-dimensional data modeling
• Experience in and understanding of a variety of analytical processes-information security, governance, measurement, etc.
• Experience in researching and evaluating new tools and methodologies
• Consulting or customer-facing experience
• A strong understanding of the target industry’s market trends, business drivers, business processes, organizational structure and culture, transformation programs, product innovation, pain points and operational risk areas
• A previous leadership role working with a mix of databases, search engines, geospatial systems, semantic technology and content management systems
• Demonstrable ability to produce complex proposals, business cases and software architectures
• Thorough knowledge of multiple programming languages, design patterns and architectural principles
• Innovative, creative, forward-thinking skills/ability
• A good knowledge of current hardware and infrastructure components and design considerations
• Demonstration of a solid understanding of key BI trends
• Outstanding verbal, written and presentation skills
• Performs work in compliance with established procedures and/or processes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Structured thinker, effective communicator who is comfortable with client interaction, negotiation and consensus building
• Ability to work independently, establishing strategic objectives, project plans and milestone goals

• Ability to use advanced data analysis, including statistical analysis, data mining techniques and computational packages
• Ability to frame and conduct complex analysis and experiences using various statistical methods

• Ability to make decisions and take appropriate actions

Desired Qualifications:

• Be a recognized authority in one or more relevant business/technical domains
• Understanding of database architecture
• Understanding of search engine architecture
• Understanding of semantic technologies, specifically RDF & Triple Stores
• Experience with document-oriented databases, such as, MarkLogic or MongoDB and with other NoSQL, such as, Cassandra and graph databases
• Experience with XML, JSON and related technologies
• Experience with NoSQL technologies and a knowledge of the database competitive landscape
• Experience or familiarity with Hadoop and the products in the Hadoop ecosystem
• Related certifications are desirable

Education, Certification, Training & Experience:

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistic, Industrial Engineering
• Advanced Degree in Applied Mathematics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Machine Learning or relevant field of study considered a plus
