On-the job training provided; experience preferred but not required

JOB SUMMARY

The Tool Repair Technician is responsible for repairing different types of portable power tools, pneumatic tools and other light construction equipment like compressors and generators within the following brands - DeWALT, Porter Cable, Bostitch and Black & Decker in our Factory Owned Service Center.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or the equivalent and/or work-related experience
  • Possess mechanical aptitude and demonstrate repair experience if applicable
  • Ability to interpret mechanical diagrams, wiring schematics and printed servicing data;
  • Knowledge of electricity principles and air flow as it applies to a power source for power tools;
  • Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in power tools and equipment
  • Be dependable, reliable and need minimal supervision;
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations;
  • Possess the ability to meet and maintain daily/weekly/quarterly productivity goals without sacrificing quality;
  • Result focused, goal driven and deliver results from an individual and team perspective;
  • Able to work Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Must be able to be flexible with work schedule

CORE COMPETENCIES

Maintenance & Repair:
  • Simple repairs to all portable electric and pneumatic tool, light construction equipment, & outdoor products
  • Troubleshooting tool failurefully or partially disassembling unit to examine components for wear/defects and replacing parts that are worn or defective
Client Relations:
  • In certain situations, explain needed services to customer to gain approval to proceed
Safe Work Practices:
  • Assisting with maintenance of shop equipment and maintains clean and safe work environment
  • Inspect workplaces for safe working environments and report unsafe conditions
  • Properly inspect tools and equipment for safe operation prior to use, returning tools in good condition to appropriate storage area after use

Process Compliance & Administration:
  • Product testing completed repairs and ensuring quality of repair
  • Completing work orders using repair parts and labor to include pricing and pertinent customer information
  • Complying with all operating procedures & policies
  • Managing inventory by ensuring accuracy with parts and accessories
Perform miscellaneous tasks as directed
