Job Posting: Investment Procurement SpecialistState Teachers' Retirement SystemJC-362981-Investment Procurement SpecialistSTAFF SERVICES MANAGER I$6,563.00 - $8,153.00 per MonthFinal Filing Date: 4/6/2023Job Description and DutiesThe CalSTRS Procurement Management Division is seeking a motivated individual to work as a Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) in the Investments Procurement Unit.The Procurement Management Division serves as a collaborative conduit between the vendor community and CalSTRS business areas to secure competitive pricing from the most qualified providers to transparently fulfill the needs of our customers. We endeavor to provide excellent customer service through team work, system expertise and support.The Investments Procurement Unit works closely with the Investments Office to develop contract pools and other awards for advisory and managerial services related to the various fund classes in CalSTRS’ diverse portfolio.Under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II, Investments Manager, and consistent with good customer service practices and the goals of the CalSTRS Strategic Plan, the Investment Procurement Specialist is expected to provide market insight, establish policy and handle the solicitation and execution of high-value and complex CalSTRS investment contracts.The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

Ability to handle multiple shifting priorities

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, draw logical conclusions and complete staff work

Knowledge of State Contracting principles and Procedures

Knowledge of or ability to collect, track and report data

Ability to work effectively as a team player and work collaboratively across teams

Experience facilitating meetings with all levels of stakeholders

Experience with SAP and MSOffice Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, Access)

Organized in managing work and meeting deadlines

Every 12 months, based on performance evaluation, employees may receive a 5% salary increase until they reach the maximum salary for the position.This position may supervise staff in the future.Telework Information: We offer a hybrid approach including in-office and remote work solutions with staff working on-site at our Headquarters in West Sacramento 2-3 days per week.Does this opportunity seem right for you?
