Full-Time Position: Tuesdays through Saturdays, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
Fox & Goose Public House is seeking eager, hardworking, and dedicated individuals to join our team in a dynamic hybrid role. As a Marketing Assistant & Shift Supervisor, you will contribute to the success of a beloved restaurant that has been an inclusive gathering place in the Historic R Street District of Midtown Sacramento for over 50 years. Position Summary
This full-time role combines responsibilities in social media marketing, event promotion, and retail management with front-of-house supervision during operating hours. You will ensure smooth daily operations while driving engagement and growth for the restaurant’s brand.
Marketing Assistant Responsibilities
Develop and execute social media strategies to promote the restaurant, events, and catering services.
Create engaging content and promotional materials for digital platforms and in-house use.
Manage the restaurant’s retail program, including inventory tracking, merchandising, and product promotions.
Collaborate with the management team on marketing campaigns and events to enhance visibility and customer engagement.
Identify and pursue new opportunities for branding, advertising, and community partnerships.
Track and report on marketing performance metrics.
Handle additional marketing-related tasks as they arise.
Shift Supervisor Duties
Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently and with a positive attitude.
Organize server table sections and allocate staff tasks to maintain workflow balance.
Supervise front-of-house and back-of-house breaks, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
Complete staff checkouts, verifying cash deposits and tip allocations.
Maintain service standards, ensuring staff deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Address customer complaints promptly and courteously, documenting resolutions.
Ensure compliance with Cal OSHA, CDPH, and local health regulations.
Conduct training, assign tasks, and provide on-the-spot coaching as needed.
Monitor inventory levels and log required products or equipment.
Open and close the restaurant following established procedures.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of social media platforms, content creation, and marketing strategies.
Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.
Leadership abilities, with prior supervisory experience in a restaurant setting.
Familiarity with safe food-handling practices and health department regulations.
Ability to communicate effectively with subordinates, peers, and management.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work under pressure in a high-stress environment.
Physical ability to perform prolonged standing, bending, lifting (up to 50 lbs.), and other restaurant-related tasks.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; additional education in marketing or related fields is preferred.
Food Manager Certification and Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training are required.
Previous experience in both marketing and restaurant operations.
Minimum (1) year experience needed in a supervisory role.
Minimum (1) year restaurant experience.
Proven ability to oversee shifts and manage teams effectively.
Must possess valid work authorization and certifications as required by California law.
