POSITION SUMMARY:

Shadow Ranch is currently seeking a motivated professional to take on a leadership role in our hospitality department. The individual in this role is responsible for managing the day to day operations of our Fair Play tasting room. The primary goals of the tasting Room team are to provide great hospitality, wine, education, and to sell wine and merchandise. Previous experience and multifaceted skill set is essential, as this role requires a high attention to detail and exceptional hospitality. Some duties required include overseeing inventories, training & development of others, administrative tasks, tasting & tour experiences, salesmanship and the safety & well-being of staff and visitors. Routine computer work will be required daily, as well as outreach of brand through networking and offsite tastings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

Under the direction of Sr. Manager, successfully oversee and implement all aspects of tasting room operations: sales, customer service needs, inventory accuracy, cash reconciliation, shipping orders, staff scheduling and training.

Provides clear, on-going communication to tasting room team providing consistent and timely direction, establishing specific and clearly communicated performance goals and delivering meaningful regular performance reviews.

Monitoring tasting room performance through delivery of monthly sales and referral reports.

Promotes the winery brand and develops a solid client base by working with the Sr. Manager to plan and develop events and outreach strategies for both tasting room events and website promotions.

Train and develop associates so they represent the highest level of hospitality available in the wine industry with an emphasis on customer service, wine education, and regional travel expertise.

Executes hospitality events and visitor programs.

Possess commanding knowledge of POS system and training staff in POS usage.

Supports trade hospitality events as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Essential Skills, Experience, and Education:

Minimum Qualifications

College degree preferred with an emphasis in communications or hospitality

Two years of experience in a hospitality, restaurant or retail environment with an emphasis on excellent customer service and driving revenue

Two years of management experience with proven leadership skills and management skills

Experience of wine sales

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Professional phone and email skills

Proficient with PC software including MS Word, Outlook, Excel and POS systems. WineDirect software a plus

Advanced wine knowledge a plus, including certifications (CSW, WSET, Sommelier certifications)

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Must be able to work extended hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Must be able sit and/or stand for long periods of time, and work on a computer for extended periods

Must have a reliable mode of transportation

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly
