Rate of Pay: $14.00 - 17.02 (DOQ)

Full-Time/Temporary Position

A. Essential Functions:

Under the direction of a designated supervisor, as well as operating within established guidelines and procedures, responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

Call Center staff will work cooperatively with Yolo County Dog Team Program staff by conducting research to locate and contact individuals either shipping or receiving USPS parcels that have been alerted on by a canine and relay information accordingly.

Call Center Representatives will communicate with Yolo County Dog Team employees in carrying out the duties of the Call Center.

Call Center staff will input data and maintain a secure cloud-based spreadsheet for the Yolo County Dog Team Program.

Call Center staff will input addresses into a spreadsheet, after receiving photos of the packages from the Yolo County dog handlers.

Call Center staff will seek out individuals on the East Coast as quickly as possible.

Call Center staff will work closely with Yolo County Inspector staff to determine when a door knock may be necessary or to relay specific information about any given package.

Call Center staff will interact professionally with the public when placing or receiving calls.

Call Center staff will perform catch-up operations, or other related duties, as required when no dog activity is available.

Call Center staff will be required to travel occasionally as necessary; and attend required meetings.

Attendance, dependability, and punctuality are essential to the proper operation of CASS’s program. If unable to report for work on time or as scheduled, the incumbent must call a supervisor at least one hour before scheduled starting time.

III. WORK ENVIRONMENT

Duties for the position are performed inside of buildings in an office environment. The workspace may be a cubicle or desk equipped with telephone, desktop computer, printer, chair and shelving for filing manuals, reports and books.

IV. INDIVIDUAL REQUIREMENTS

The incumbent in this position must have the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Those skills include ability to verbally communicate effectively; ability to actively listen; phone and data entry skills, attention to detail, and professionalism. Must possess strong verbal, written communication, and organization skills, and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

The incumbent in this position must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships, work well under pressure, work independently, and work cooperatively with other staff members in completing assigned work and meeting required deadlines.

COMPENSATION:

Full-time, Non-Exempt

$14.00– $17.02 Hr. Pay Rate - DOQ

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The incumbent in this position will be required, with or without reasonable accommodation, to operate a desktop computer using a keyboard and mouse; employ repetitive arm and wrist motions; occasionally bend, stoop, twist, reach; and, lift file or supply boxes of up to twenty pounds.
