DESCRIPTION:
The Healthy Bed Store is seeking energetic and outgoing Drivers/Delivery personnel and/or Independent Delivery Service to make deliveries to our customers throughout the greater Sacramento area. We are interested in goal oriented individuals who possess a passion for providing excellent customer service and who embody the skills to complete required tasks in a safe, efficient manner.
The Healthy Bed Store is a privately-owned company and is the established leader in the certified organic and non-toxic bedding industry in Northern and Central California. Our delivery area is primarily the Sacramento/Placer/El Dorado/Yolo county area with occasional deliveries to the SF Bay area, Nevada and Northern and Central Valley. DUTIES:
At The Healthy Bed Store, we believe that our customer's purchasing experience, from the selection of their new bed to the final delivery service that we provide, is what sets us apart from the big-name mattress chain stores. Since our customers are very discriminating buyers that have purchased from our unique high-end product lines, the Delivery Team is responsible for ensuring that every customer receives the best delivery experience they have ever had. This is accomplished by delivering in a safe, timely, and professional manner and making sure that we have met or exceeded our customer's expectations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A DELIVERY DRIVER:
Load/unload delivery trucks and vendor shipments
Safe and appropriate driving of delivery trucks
Maintaining truck safety and efficient operation and reports any damage to vehicle, customer property, company stores
Provide exceptional customer service ensuring timely deliveries, CODs and call-backs
Delivery and set up of new merchandise and removal of old products
Inventory control
Efficient route planning and execution
Warehouse maintenance
Verify correct product loaded for delivery
Refuel vehicles
Other duties may be assigned
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The successful applicant for Delivery Driver Personnel should be able to handle the above essential duties and responsibilities along with possessing the following qualifications.
This position is currently a part-time, on-call position and is suited to someone with a flexible schedule.
Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays but we can schedule the deliveries to work with your schedule. Must have reliable phone to contact you with schedule and you must respond back to us quickly and reliably
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must have two years of personal driving experience
Must have no more than one DMV "point" on driving record initially, may not exceed two DMV points during employment, and must be insurable under the company's current insurance policy.
Must have exceptional follow through to instructions, communication and problem-solving skills and the ability to interact with a wide range of people.
Basic computer knowledge including ability to locate customer homes using online mapping tools or ability to navigate via map books and GPS equipment.
High School diploma or general education degree; or prior experience and or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read maps and interpret documents such as safety rules and operating manuals.
Ability to effectively read, speak and communicate in English.
Ability to follow written and verbal simple to complex instruction and react and respond to emergencies and make decisions
Valid "Class C" California driver's license.
