Village Homes is a beautiful 70-acre ecologically focused community in Davis, CA with 225 single family homes, 20 apartments and over 20 acres of orchards, vineyards, gardens, parks and greenbelts. We’re looking for the right person to join our team and help us care for this special place!
This candidate should have the following characteristics: great work ethic; positive attitude; ability to work as part of a team and work independently; an appreciation for working as a member of a close-knit community.
Qualified applicants should have the ability to perform essential duties of the position.
● 2+ years experience in landscape/garden/farm/horticulture maintenance
● Must be able to perform the following duties either in a team setting or independently: installation and maintenance of landscape irrigation; mowing, edging and leaf blowing; use of power equipment such as weed whips, chain saws, hedgers and pole pruners; use of riding mowers (both gas powered and electric); invasive plant removal and weed maintenance.
● Ability to problem solve - usually on the spot - is a must in this position!
● Cleaning and caring for equipment is critical to this position (anything and everything from a riding lawn mower to hand-held pruning shears)!
● Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or to assist another person in moving supplies, etc. of up to 100 pounds.
● Must have a valid California Driver’s License and be insurable.
● Full time, 40 hrs./week, typically Monday - Friday (some weekend work will be needed occasionally for special projects).
● Irrigation/Pruning/Horticulture experience highly preferred
