Sacramento law firm is expanding its paralegal department and seeks to hire a litigation paralegal to work as part of a team with attorneys and clients in supportive environment, performing specific legal work requiring knowledge of legal concepts and procedures. Candidates must be highly motivated, self-sufficient, motivated, eager to learn and have a high level of dedication. Salary range for this position is $57,000 to $72,000, depending on experience.
Primary responsibilities include:
Reviewing, organizing, and analyzing documents.
Handling a high volume of discovery documents.
Drafting basic legal documents, including subpoenas.
Will be trained in managing and producing electronically stored information using Casepoint.
Deposition line summaries.
Medical and employee record reviews.
Assist with trial preparation, including building trial presentations using TrialDirector.
Performing background and real estate searches.
May perform other duties as appropriate.
Qualification Requirements:
1-3 years of litigation experience is desired.
Experience in case management.
Ability to work effectively with people, exercise sound judgment, establish and maintain professional relationships with attorneys and colleagues.
Ability to multi-task, problem solve and bring projects to completion.
Above-average competency in office technology and software, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Pro and document management systems.
Experience with eDiscovery and trial presentation software would be a plus.
Certified by an ABA approved paralegal program.
Compliance with Business and Professions Code 6450.
Strong analytical, communication and writing skills required.
Overtime and some travel may be required.
