Field Service Technicians are responsible for installation, service, and maintenance of electronic security systems including access control, audio/video, cctv, intrusion detection, intercom, and other alarm systems. Excellent technical, customer service, communication, and time management skills are necessary for success in this position. Field Service Technicians must have professional presence and ability to effectively communicate and interact with customers and colleagues.


Responds to customer requests for on-site install/repair and perform scheduled maintenance of equipment to high standards and to the satisfaction of customers.

Prepares for installations, upgrades, repairs and disconnects by reviewing work orders; obtaining necessary equipment, supplies and tools; and evaluating install location and access points.

Installs equipment, running and pulling cable, programming and calibrating equipment while adhering to codes, regulations and standards.

Read schematics, diagrams, blue prints, technical documentation etc. to assist with repairs and/or diagnostics.

Diagnoses/troubleshoots security systems issues accurately and in a timely fashion.

Ensures security systems are functioning correctly and with optimal performance by testing equipment and connections and identifying and correcting any issues.

Proactively identify product/service sales opportunities at client sites and processes work order modifications as necessary.

Completes required paperwork (time sheets, service orders, forms, inventory, expense reports, and equipment related items).

Adheres to procedures and safety requirements as appropriate.


2+ years of experience in security system installation, maintenance, and repairs preferred. Apprenticeship program also available, we can train you and create that new career path!

Knowledge of the principles of electricity/electronics and technical (electronic) theory

Detailed oriented, organized and capable of working efficiently with minimal or no guidance.

Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with a wide variety of people and backgrounds.

Must have valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Willingness to travel and work on-call and over-time hours from time-to-time as needed.

Minimum High School education or equivalent. Associates Degree in a technical field preferred.
