STG Transport Logistics is hiring for a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to maintain our Fleet of Volvo, Freightliner and International tractors. We are a FedEx Ground Contracted Service Provider. Competitive pay.
Responsibilities:
General maintenance, preventative maintenance and vehicle inspections.
Diagnostic/troubleshooting and repairs on different levels
California 90-day BIT & Federal USDOT inspections
Diagnose, test and repair vehicles including powertrains and drivetrains, as well as electrical, steering, braking, exhaust and suspension systems.
Accurately and efficiently complete paperwork and/or computer database entries relating to the work performed.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Graduation from a formalized mechanical trade school highly desirable.
Four years of progressively responsible mechanical experience as a journeyman mechanic (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Valid Class A Commercial Driver License with no restrictions preferred.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Expert knowledge of diesel, heavy equipment mechanical components and parts.
Knowledge of federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices; understanding of potential job hazards.
Basic computer programs and computer-based diagnostics tools.
Must own your own tools and tool programs available.
Pass background, drug screen and physical.
Self-motivated & Leadership skills a plus.
Physically able to perform all facets of mechanical and technical skills.
